Notes.

‘Hey, Black Man’ is a poetic fashion film centred on identity, love, and quiet resilience.

Told from the perspective of a woman standing proudly beside her husband, the piece explores the tension between internal struggle and collective strength — moving through moments of self-doubt, societal pressure, and the power of being seen.

Shot with an intimate, handheld approach, the camera stays close. Placing the audience within private conversations and unspoken moments, before shifting into more observational perspectives that reflect isolation in social spaces.

While rooted in fashion, the focus moves beyond clothing, using performance, movement, and connection to carry the narrative.

Produced with a minimal crew across multiple locations, the project relied on instinct, collaboration, and precision to capture something honest within tight constraints.
